At the moment I am loving the process of making Video Poems. One leads to another constructing a series of meditations on life and everything around it.
Generally each peace starts with a statement, then question and ends with a wish or a prayer.

BLUE HOUR 3
Happening next week!

Art-Saloon: Blue Hour 3
Not only since Youtube video films are worldwide a popular artistic one
expression means – they were only known till then to a rather small circle.

Still from "Poets say", short film by Lira Kay
.
Cette projection est organisée en collaboration avec le Festival international du film expérimental 2010
de Baia Mare, en Roumanie (FIFE 2010, dirigé par Mircea Bochis), sous l’égide du musée Florean
The experimental films presented were illustrating poems from verious autors. The 33th edition of The French-English Poetry Festival, organized by the LA TRADUCTIERE magazine No. 28, Paris, June 2010.
Two of my very first films were screened as part of that festival in Cinéma Le Balzac - 1, rue Balzac (coin avenue des Champs-Elysées) and in Florean Contemporary Art Museum
in Romania.
I loved illustrating a poem by Ives Namur “Poets Say”. In fact that particular collaboration led me into working with texts of other writers and using my own poetry in my films.
You can find more details about the French-English Poetry Festival and see other participants films on the site of the festival:www.festrad.com

Tuesday Dream. Doors is second in the series of Dreams. She’s walking in the labyrinth of her mind seeing staff…

.
Wednesday Dream. Walking on Fire is a short film from the Dreams series. Music, graphics and video by Lira Kay.
Dream about walking into situations that can be named ‘Fire’, it’s about beeing careful, daring and provocative. 2010
I like the suggestion that anything can be fire. Originally in my repetitive dreams it is the water I’m walking on. But when I try to interpret my dreams, which I love doing, I see that at different times walking on water (or fire) can mean different things. So I use the text to emphasise the variable element of the warning.

Thursday Dream. Grandma’s Waltz is next in the series of Dreams. Reflecting on past and present, inspired by old photographs and music I heard at my grandmother’s house. I loved reproducing the sounds of an old world and basing images on the black and white photographs of my ancestors. Story is fully based on the actual dream I had on Thursday some time ago. To develop the seen image I had to grow my hair and find vintage clothes. Hope you like the result..
.
Friday Dream production is in process.
